Mullis, Albert Baxter MONROE - Mr. Albert Baxter Mullis, 79, died Monday, Nov. 6, 2006, at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Davis Funeral Chapel, officiated by the Rev. Joe Nash and the Rev. Chris Justice. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Mr. Mullis was born on Nov. 28, 1926, in Mecklenburg County, a son of the late Baxter Lee Mullis and Mary Beaver Mullis. He was a retired truck driver from Carolina Transfer and Storage. He was also a U.S. World War II Navy veteran. He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy M. Long. Survivors include his wife, Myrtle Baucom Mullis of the home; two brothers, Buford Mullis and wife, Julie, of Concord and Grady Mullis and wife, Onita, of Mint Hill; three sisters, Ola Williams and husband, Max, of Midland, Joyce Gladden and husband, William, of Mint Hill and Margie Long of Matthews; and brother-in-law, Paul Long of Matthews. The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Davis Funeral Home, Monroe, 1003 Franklin St. Memorials may be made to Lee Park Baptist Church, 1407 Lockhart St., Monroe, NC 28110 or to Hospice of Union County, 700 W.
