Mary Lee Kennedy, after leaving Barium Springs Home for Children, went
to work in Taylorsville, NC. There she met Augustus Paul Mullis. They
were married on 1 Oct 1938 in York, SC. They introduced Mary Lee's
sister, Bessie, to Paul's brother, Glenn. Bessie Kennedy married Glenn
Jasper Mullis on 15 Feb 1941. The two couples remained close as they
reared their families. Each couple have five living children. Mary
Lee had twin girls, Paula and Paulette. Paulette was born-dead. She
is buried at the Sandy Plains Baptist Church in Gastonia, NC. Bessie
and Mary Lee's parents, William Lowrence Kennedy and Ila George Kennedy
are also buried there. Bessie's and Mary Lee's children are
double-first cousins. At least. that is what the children were always
told they were called. Not sure if that is a correct genealogy term.
