Winnie Hobbs Mullis, age 91, of Stockbridge died Thursday, Feb. 23, 2006.

She was born in Dexter to the late John Thomas and Clara Jane Shepherd Hobbs. While living in Georgia, Mrs. Mullis attended the Lighthouse Community Baptist Church on East Atlanta Road in Stockbridge.

She was a member of the Golden Hearts Sunday School Class in Fernandina Beach, Fla. Mrs. Mullis enjoyed fishing, gardening, quilting, cooking and caring for others. She was a granny to everyone she came in contact with and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was preceded in death by husband, Joseph B. Mullis; son, Travis Eugene Mullis; and daughter, Mary Helen Lyons.

She is survived by her daughters, Iris (Kenneth) Dockery and Barbara (Eugene) Moore-Bailey both of Stockbridge, Ga.; nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2006 at The Chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors with Pastor Jeff McBurnett officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Dexter. The family received friends Friday at the funeral home.
