MT. HOLLY -- Mrs. Duckworth, 85, formerly of Mt. Holly, presently of 6298 Pansy Trail, Denver, died December 10, 2005 at Presbyterian Hospital, Charlotte. A native of Mt. Holly, she was a daughter of the late James Sebe and Hattie Hunderwood Mullis.

Funeral service is 2:00 PM Tuesday at First Baptist Church, Mt. Holly, with Dr. Dennis Knight and Dr. Robert Winecoff officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30 PM tonight at Carothers Funeral Home, Mt. Holly.

Mrs. Duckworth had retired from Union Carbide, Charlotte after 20 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church for over 50 years, was a former lifetime member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and was a member of Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Larry Benton of Sherrills Ford, NC; three grandchildren, Tina and Steven Herman of Denver, Bruce and Annie Duckworth of Mt. Holly, and Michael and Ashley Duckworth of Gastonia; six grandchildren, Cody and Madison Herman, Laurel Ann and Alex Duckworth, Riley and Jacob Duckworth. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Duckworth was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Hugh Alexander Duckworth; son, Hugh A. Duckworth, Jr.; and brothers, Billy and David Mullis.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 'Building Fund', 300 S. Main St., Mt. Holly, NC 28120.
