Donald Gene Mullis Mr. Mullis, 58, of Mint Hill, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 28, 2007, after a short battle with cancer.

 

He is the son of the late Ollen Harvey Mullis, Sr. and Frances Marie Linker Mullis of Mint Hill. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather, and a friend to so many. Don grew up in Mint Hill and attended Bain Elementary and East Mecklenburg High School.

 

He served in the United States Army during Vietnam, and loved his country. He then furthered his education in the field of Computer Sciences and served many years in that field. Don was also licensed and ordained as a Baptist minister and served bi-vocationally as Pastor in two local churches, and served more recently as Deacon and Sunday school teacher at Hartis Grove Baptist Church in Indian Trail.

 

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Gail Morgan Mullis; two daughters, Cynthia Gail Cochrane and husband, Kevin, and Tracey Lynn Bramhall and husband, Chris, all of Monroe; his sister, Sylvia Mullis of Indian Land, SC; and two brothers, Ollen Mullis, Jr. of Arlington, TX and Robert Mullis of Mineral Springs, NC. His pride and joy were his grandchildren, Hunter Lee Cochrane, Christopher Cameron Bramhall, Chandler Reece Cochrane, Morgan Lynn Bramhall, Savannah Gail Bramhall, Michaela Faith Cochrane, and expected Baby Bramhall. He is preceded in death by his infant brother, Michael and infant sister, Cheryl.

 

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 1, 2007 with visitation beginning at 3:00 PM and services beginning at 4:30 PM at Hartis Grove Baptist Church, 4224 Blanchard Circle, Indian Trail.
