Mrs. Mary E. Mullis, 85, passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2007 in Memphis, TN. She was born in Sumner, MS to the late Thomas & Margaret Kirksey White. She was married to the late Neal Reed Mullis. She was a homemaker and a member of the Little Texas Baptist Church in Tunica, MS.

 

The visitation will be held at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS on Tuesday, August 21, 2007 from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held in Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home on Wednesday August 22, 2007 at 11:30 a.m. with Bro. Floyd Thornburg presiding. The interment will take place in Friendship Cemetery in Charleston, MS with Adam Welch, Jason Welch, Mike Moorman, John Floyd, John Tucker, and Chris Laster serving as pallbearers.

Mrs. Mullis is survived by five daughters, Tracy Welch of Coldwater, MS, Helen King of Memphis, TN, Penny Pennington of Sarah, MS, Margaret Smith of Memphis, TN, and Delois Denley of Coffeeville, MS; two sons, Michael Laster of Coffeeville, MS and Harold Laster of Coffeeville, MS; a sister, Ruby Powell of Oakland, MS; 30 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy Wilkinson; four sons, Claude Hollins, Tommy Laster, Sr., David Randell, and James Edward "Bubba" Laster; a sister, Fannie Filleah; 2 brothers, Claude White and Johnny White, Sr.; 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
