Alan Mullis has been guiding for Ken Penrod's Life Outdoors Unlimited for the past eight years. Mullis guides on the lower Potomac mainly but also has been successful on Lake Anna and Kerr Lake in Virginia. Alan drives a Ranger boat with a Johnson motor.

Alan resides with his wife Christy and son Gus in Poolsville Maryland.  Mullis is operations manager for Rockville Fuel and Seed Company/Montgomery Fault and is also a  certified auctioneer in the state of Maryland.

Alan is a licensed Captain by the United States Coast Guard and has a Maryland tidal water and fresh water guide license. He has been trained in both First Aid and CPR. Mullis is on the Lowrance Electronics Pro Staff. Some of his sponsors are Mare Marine,  Bigmouth Lures,  Mizmo Bait Company, Gator Rods, Luhr Jensen, Minn Kota, Deka Marine Batteries and others.  

Mullis is president of the Nations Capitol Bass Federation, a new bass federation headquartered in Washington, D.C..
