Max C. Mullis, 62, of Marysville, died Sunday morning, Jan. 21,
2007, at
his residence following an extended battle with cancer. He was retired from Hagglunds Drives and had formerly been employed by Rockwell International and Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. A service technician and consultant, he traveled the world servicing and installing hydraulic systems in manufacturing plants. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his six grandchildren. He also enjoyed camping with family, painting cars, riding motorcycles, trap shooting, golfing and bowling. He formerly held memberships in Moose Lodge No. 1651, BPOE No. 1130 and the Marysville Eagles. He was born June 11, 1944, in Oak Ridge, Tenn., to Melvin M. and Elsie M. Bistodeau Mullis. His mother preceded him in death, and his father survives in Niles, Mich. He also is survived by his wife of nearly 35 years, the former Vicki S. Kunce, to whom he was married June 10, 1972, in Marysville.; his children, Todd C. (Gina) Mullis of Akron, Kelly L. (Rodney) Kaffenbarger of South Vienna, Dr. Amie S. (Keith) Segner of Marysville, Angie R. (Craig "Chug") Eger of Milford Center; six grandchildren, Nathan and Devon Kaffenbarger, Klayton and Alyssa Segner and Cadence and Cole Eger; brothers, Ed (Judy) Mullis of South Bend, Ind., Charles (Becky) Mullis of Niles, Mich.; mother-in-law, Wanda R. Kunce of Marysville; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Kathi and Daryl Ingram of Marysville; many nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 3 to 8 p.m. at Ingram Funeral Home where funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Mo Dunn officiating. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Keith Segner, Chug Eger, Rodney Kaffenbarger, Ed Mullis, Charles Mullis and Chris Ingram. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Dillon and William Franke. Memorial contributions may be made to the Union County Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
