Carmella Rita Mullis, 86, of Vero Beach, Fla., died Monday, Feb.
25, 2008 at her home.
She was born April 19, 1921 in Magnolia Springs, and moved to Vero Beach in 1954 from Cocoa Beach, Fla. She worked in the Vero Beach High School cafeteria prior to her retirement. She was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church in Vero Beach, VFW and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was predeceased by her husband James L. Mullis. Survivors include her children, DeLys Young of Accord, N.Y., Deborah A. Mullis of Winter Park, Fla., Randolph J. Mullis of Madison, Wis., Margot Hernandez of Weehawken, N.J., Mona Leibinger of Orlando, Fla., and Robert Mullis of Fort Pierce, Fla.; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. with a prayer service beginning at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 29 at Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 1 at St. Helen Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Crestlawn Cemetery in Vero Beach. The family requests memorial donations be made to St. Helen Catholic Church, 2085 Tallahassee Ave., Vero Beach, FL 32960.
