Carlton Layne Alwran, 54 of 11211 Mount Holly Road, died Tuesday,
November 6, 2007 at Gaston Memorial Hospital. He was born in
Mecklenburg County. He was preceded in death by his twin brother
Dwight Alwran. He was employed with Milan Express in Charlotte. He
was a member and former treasurer of the North Carolina Maintenance
Trucking Association.
He is survived by 3 sons Shawn Layne Alwran and wife Lauren of Waxhaw, Jason Troy Alwran and wife Dana of Charlotte, and Eric Brandon Alwran of Mount Holly. His parents Wayne D. and Raquel Mullis Alwran of Charlotte, 3 brother Blain Alwran and wife Debbie Greensboro, Arnold Alwran Alwran and wife Pamela of Charlotte, and Ronald Alwran of Charlotte, 1 sister Pearl Alwran of North Belmont. Girlfriend Joette Clark of Charlotte. A graveside service will be held 3PM, Saturday, November 10, 2007 at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Gene Lathan and Rev. Scott Campbell officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-3PM at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly. Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross, 2401 Park Road, Charlotte, NC 28203 or to the American Kidney Foundation, 7315 Wisconsin Avenue, Bethesda, GA 28014.
