Published: Tuesday, June 3, 2008 12:46 AM CDT Ruthie Mae Cox Mullis of Bennettsville, formerly of McColl, passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2008 at the age of 82.

The funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at the Oak Grove United Methodist Church in Wallace, SC. The burial service will follow in the Church Cemetery. The Rev. Lloyd King and the Rev. Wayne Gibson will be officiating the service.

Mrs. Mullis was born March 31, 1926 in Wallace, SC, daughter of the late Grover and Mary Driggers Cox. She was the wife of the late Wade Hampton Mullis. She worked in textiles retiring from Hanes Hosiery with many years of dedicated service. She was a faithful member of the Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church in Laurinburg where she served as the church secretary for many years.

She was preceded in death by a brother, James Cox and a sister, Ellie Cox.


She is survived by her daughter, Robin Woods, and husband Mike of Clayton; a brother, Clarence Cox of Ohio; two grandchildren, Jennifer Woods Johnson and husband Melvin of Bennettsville, SC and Alan Michael Woods and three great grandchildren, Brittany, Kayla and Rylee.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3 at Richard Boles Funeral Service.

Memorials may be made in memory of Mrs. Mullis to the Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church, Laurinburg, NC 28352.
