CONCORD - Mr. Hubert Boyce Mullis Jr., 71, of Concord passed away
after a brief illness at CMC-NorthEast Medical Center on Monday
July 7, 2008.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wilkinson Funeral Home. The funeral will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. at McGill Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Ayers officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Mr. Mullis was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Russ Mullis who passed away on Oct. 15, 2004. He is survived by his daughter, April Stephens and husband, Don; two sons, Patrick Mullis and wife, Sheila, and Mitchell Mullis all of Concord. Mr. Mullis is also survived by nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Mr. Mullis will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather and friend. He was born on March 24, 1937 in Union County to the late Hubert and Gertrude Helms Mullis. Hubert worked his entire life in the hosiery business, running his own company for 20 years known as Mullis Hosiery. He was currently working for Honeycutt Knitting as a supervisor.
