KILLEEN, Texas - Hoyl William Ward, 85, of Killeen, Texas, died Monday, March 13, 2006. He was born Feb. 4, 1921, in Greenwood. He retired with honors from the Army in 1965 having served in World War II and the Korean War, and was a member of East Side Baptist Church in Killeen, where he served as Sunday school teacher for several years. He was the widower of Iolanda Ward.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Central Christian Church with burial at Killeen Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Killeen Memorial Funeral Home of Killeen, Texas.

He is survived by his wife, Joann; five daughters, Linda White of Wichita, Kan., Donna Biggerstaff of Fort Smith, Silma McKnight of Van Buren, Brenda Robinson of Topeka, Kan., and Patsy Branham of Killeen, Texas; three sons, Jeff Ward, and Bill and Frank Mullis; a sister, Juanita; three brothers, Troy, Bobby and John; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Carroll and James Branham, Jacob Ward, Steve Ross, Billy Conklin and Jason Valois.
