MAYOR BREAKS TIE IN REJECTING WAL-MART PLAN - COUNCIL ALSO APPOINTS PINEVILLE NATIVE MULLIS AS NEW TOWN CLERK

Council appointed Pineville native Billie Mullis as the new town clerk. She takes over for former clerk Susan McConnell, who recently resigned on good terms from the post.

Mullis comes to town government from the medical administration field. She has worked at Lakeview Living Center in Pineville, Carolinas Medical Center and other medical facilities. Her clerk responsibilities will include recording town meeting minutes and helping Pineville telephone and electric company customers at town hall.

Mullis attended South Mecklenburg High and Central Piedmont Community College. She lives in Pineville and has two married daughters and a grandchild on the way.
