WAXHAW -- Mrs. Blackburn, 86, died Monday, January 9, 2006 in Carolinas Medical Center, Union. She was born in Union County, NC on November 22, 1919 daughter of the late William Pruitt and Kitty Newell Mullis.


Mrs. Blackburn was owner of Blackburn Restaurant and served 8 years as the Mayor of Waxhaw.


Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 11, 2006 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Gordon Funeral Service, Monroe. Burial will follow in Waxhaw Cemetery.


Her husband was the late Joe Blackburn. She is survived by daughters, Patsy Wolfe and Carolyn Faulk, both of Monroe; sister, Eva Rowell of Marshville; grandchildren, Nicole Jordan, Brian Wolfe and Lane Faulk; and great grandchildren, Miranda Oxford, Colton Oxford, Mason Wolfe, Corey Wolfe and Tyler Wolfe.
