Mrs. Stimpson, 71, of Charlotte, NC, died December 4th, 2005 at home. She has gone to take her place with Our Lord after a courageous battle for life this past year. She was born January 21st, 1934, in Union County, a daughter of the late Brodis and Mary Malinda Mullis.


Mrs. Stimpson was a loving mother of four, active in the Tech High School Lunch Bunch and a frequent contributor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. She was a member of Shamrock Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her brother, Fred Mullis and brother-in-law, Wendell Sloan.


Survivors include her sister, Martha Sloan of Mooresville; sister-in-law, Betty Jo Mullis of Atlanta, GA; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Joe and Mildred Mullis of Atlanta, GA, and George and Sherry Mullis of Mooresville. She is also survived by her children, Kathy Goss and her husband, Tim, Lisa Hollars and her husband, Dale, and Randy Stimpson, all of Charlotte, and Kim Stimpson of Asheville; and grandchildren, Jesse Hollars, Michael Goss, and Matthew Goss.


The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff of Presbyterian Radiology, Matthews, NC and Matthews Hematology and Oncology for their care and concern of Mrs. Stimpson.


Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, Tennessee, 38105, and/or the Tech High Lunch Bunch Scholarship Fund, in care of D.L. Dellinger, 8049 Corporate Centre Drive, Charlotte, NC 28226.


The family will receive friends for visitation at the Wilson Chapel of Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service, 5301 Albemarle Road, Charlotte, NC from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 6th. Her funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Bill Smith of Carmel Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park.
